The Children’s Kingdom in Ludwigsburg Palace

What is usually banned in most museums is encouraged in the Children's Kingdom (Kinderreich), an interactive, living museum for children in Ludwigsburg Palace. Touching things, trying things on and joining in the fun are not just allowed, they are encouraged!

Be a prince or princess for the day!

For Kinderreich, think Children’s Kingdom. In this part of the Palace, children (4 years and over) get a real idea of what courtly life was like almost 300 years ago. What would you wear for a state visit? No problem. These princes and princesses can find one in the royal wardrobe. And put it on! These potential ladies-in-waiting and knights can learn how to play Baroque card and board games. They can learn a traditional dance on a replica of the historic palace theater stage. There are lessons in the formal etiquette expected when dining with the Duke. And when tired, they can relax on a state bed for a quick nap after all the fun of courtly life.
